In 1999 a posting on a forum suggested that the writer had the original 1965 mix on his CD, unfortunately the writer was 'shot down in flames'. It wasn't until 2006 that it became accepted that for some reason EMI Canada, in their, Cinram and Disque Americ Plants, pressed the Original mixes of Help! and Rubber Soul rather than the 1987 remixes.

There are three known Disque Americ mastering and three tray variations , detailed below if you know of further variations please PM me. It has been reported on some sites that there is a fourth mastering W902 <011> C246440 but I believe this to be a misread of the W9G2 master. I have assumed that the tray without the EMI MUSIC CANADA logo to be earlier as later pressings without the original mix also have the logo, but I may be totally wrong.

Despite the quantity of discs that must have been pressed being high , prices soared to silly levels shortly after clarification of the correct mixes were confirmed, within a month it was however possible to pick up a copy for only $13 on ebay.

The CD production Sub-Master was prepared by Odea Murphy, Capitol, Hollywood on the 6th April 1990 and was only used for a few years before the mistake was corrected.

Mastering

On the 6th April 1990, Odea Murphy, Capitol, Hollywood engineer , prepared a Sub-Master tape for CD production by Canada EMI, using an equalized transfer of the 'Jarrait' master. Which has been assumed to be Mike Jarrett's original 1987 mix and pre George Martin remix.
